For our August meeting we have Karen Randall giving a talk on aquatic plants. Karen is very well known in (and outside) the aquatic plant circle and has been a large contributor to the Aquatic Gardeners Association (AGA) and it's publication The Aquatic Gardener. So if you're interested in aquatic plants, this is the talk to go to.
And don't forget our usual mini-auction, raffle and bowl show - it's invertebrates this month! What a great pairing we have this month as freshwater shrimp and (some) snails go beautifully with aquatic plants! But feel free to enter those plant destroying crayfish too!

Sorry about the late notice. This month we're taking a break from the usual slate of speakers and having a Chinese food social! Come on down Wednesday to have some of the best Chinese food around from our member Jimmy Chang's Hunan Kitchen restaurant in Bellingham MA. Got a question about breeding a particular species? Chances are someone in the club will have some helpful ideas. And don't forget to catch up on what's new in everyone's fish room.
And don't forget our mini-auction, raffle and bowl show - it's native fish this month!

For our June meeting, we're blessed with another speaker from the Boston Aquarium Society. Tony Pinto returns to give a talk on anabantoids. In the past Tony has given us talks on his many fish collecting travels and is a regular contributor in Tropical Fish Hobbyist.
As always, we'll have our raffle, BAP auction and monthly bowl show - bring your favorite Goldfish!

For those of you who enjoyed his talk on mudskippers, Rich Paulhus is back! This time Rich is coming down from the Boston Aquarium Society to do a talk titled "Saltwater made easy"! So come on down to the RISPCA and see how to setup your first saltwater tank.
Also on the agenda is nominations for our upcoming election. As always, we'll have our raffle, BAP auction and monthly bowl show - bring your favorite Tetra!

Thanks to everyone who came to our March auction and made it a success! Watch this site for info on our show and auction in September!
For April's meeting we will be showing the "Freshwater Natural Aquarium" documentary on DVD by Ivan Mikolji. It will explore the habitats of over 56 species of freshwater fish in 33 rivers. More information can be found on his site Aquatic Experts.
In addition, we'll have our usual BAP auction, raffle and bowl show. This month's fish are Guppies so bring your favorite Poecilia Reticulata (sorry not broken down into separate categories\color strains\singles or pairs) and see who has the best Guppies in the club. |
