Everyone is welcome to join us at 7:00 at the Rhode Island Society for the Protection of Animals to welcome Peter George to TFSRI. He will be speaking on Ctenopoma, a group of African Anabantoids.
Doors open at 7:00 and the meeting starts at 7:30. We usually have refreshments, a raffle and a small auction in addition to the speaker. All are welcome.
Hello everyone, apologies for not updating the website often enough!
This year we’ve opted not to run our Annual All Class Fish Show, the last in the nation. We have two primary reasons and issues we need to face, available help to set up the show and enough entries to fill the show. Plus, in order to win cash prizes, we needed people or businesses to sponsor the classes to win first, second, and third. But rest assured, we are taking these challenges head on and figuring out solutions for next year to come back with a roar!
Our Auction will be held on Sunday, September 9th at noon. Doors open at 9am, viewing of the items ends at 11:45 and we start the auction at noon. As usual the kitchen will be stocked with delicous sandwiches and beverages, we will have raffles and 50/50 raffles, there will also be a small fish exhibition by the members of TFSRI! Auction ends when the last item is sold (usually around 5pm).
As always the Auction is held at the rectory hall of St. Josephs at 1303 Mendon Rd., Cumberland, RI.
Prepare your fish for this years FISH SHOW and AUCTION!
We are the last ALL CLASS show in the country! Make sure you become part of history by being in our show and supporting us so we can continue to provide the best entertainment around! Our Show is completely lit by LED lighting so you can properly view the fish under the best lighting! All fishes are accepted unless it does not fit in a 20 gallon long or smaller tank. You may bring in your own tank and stand if the fish is bigger! Koi ponds are acceptable as long as you are responsible for it. We provide air for all the tanks including ponds if you want to bring one in! The entry fee this year is $2 for your first fish and $1 for every fish after. Planted tanks AND Photography are both included this year once more! Show off your fish in it’s natural habitat or show off your plant aquascaping skills!
Rules and Early Registration are in the flyer attached. Tell anyone and everyone! There will be food served at the Auction! We’ll be bringing back those BJ sandwiches everyone loved so much! We’ll be adding some new things to the menu like Pulled Pork sandwiches! Candy bars will also make an entrance due to popular demand! As usual, coffee will be free and the Kitchen will remain open throughout the Auction on Sunday until breakdown.
