TFSRI Meeting Wednesday, August 16, 2023. Derek Lambert Video on Livebearers

This month we will watch a presentation by Derek Lambert, in a talk he gave at the NEC convention several years ago on Livebearers. Vice President Rick Burt says:

"Derek's talk is funny,  informative, and exciting as he initially talks about many unusual livebearing fish, and then takes us on an adventurous journey to Mexico to collect livebearers. After that, he talks about common livebearers and many rare ones that you may not have ever heard of, along with how to take care of them.

This is an outstanding talk, one not to be missed and unavailable anywhere else."

Long-time member Don Hubert and his wife are moving to Arizona. He has donated a bunch of aquarium equipment he no longer needs to TFSRI. We will be having a table sale of these items at the meeting. Items include air pumps, sponge filters, decorations, heaters and other useful items, many in like new condition. We will be selling them at a couple of dollars per item.

Don may also still have a few aquaria for sale. When I picked up the other items he had:

125-gallon aquarium setup: tank, wrought iron stand, top, lights and 2 canister filters.
Another 125-gallon wrought iron stand
A JEHMCO linear piston pump
2 40-gallon breeder aquaria, and
2 slate-bottom, stainless steel antique tanks with matching light strips. One also comes with a wrought iron stand.
If you are interested, contact Don directly or contact me if you need his contact info.

We will also have our usual meeting activities. You may bring any fish or plants you are submitting for the BAP or HAP for auction. You may also bring up to 3 lots for a Buck-a-Bag auction. We plan to have refreshments and a short business meeting as well.

The address of our Wednesday meeting is 19 Mohawk Drive, Riverside, Rhode Island. Mohawk Drive is directly off of Rt 114, the Wampanoag Trail in Riverside. Route 114 is a divided road at the entrance to Mohawk Road. If you are coming from the North you need to go past it to the next turnaround, which is on the left just past the "Welcome to Barrington" Sign. After you turn around, Mohawk Road will be on your right a short distance past the "Anchor Bay Assisted Living" sign. There is a Blue and White sign at the entry of Mohawk Road for the Riverside Sportsmans Association. The building is at the end of the road.
